Uriah sure did seem to be a picture perfect example of who David had been before he allowed himself to indulge in thoughts and actions that were far from "the man after God's own heart." The man David had been and seemed to to put to death with his sin...for a time. The cover up of marring Bathsheba was evil...David still running to hide what he'd become.
