Word of the Year 2022

For you are all children of God through faith in Jesus Christ. (Galatians 3:26, New Living Translation)

It’s that time of year – yes, the first Sunday in a New Year, which means I have a new word of the year.

After the usual deliberation, and too much thinking on my part, God once again gave me the word to keep close to my heart for the next 52 weeks.

It seems too simple, this year’s word. Like, duh? Shouldn’t this be our word every day for life? Which is so true, but is that what we really do? Or do we fall back on our own ways, our own worries? Do we place faith in ourselves or others over faith in God? And what exactly is faith anyway?

Questions I need to find the answers to. Or that God will give me the answers to.

Fight the good fight for the true faith. Hold tightly to the eternal life to which God has called you, which you have declared so well before many witnesses. (1 Timothy 6:12, New Living Translation)

“Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.” (Romans 12:12, New International Version)

“You don’t have enough faith,” Jesus told them. “I tell you the truth, if you had faith even as small as a mustard seed, you could say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it would move. Nothing would be impossible.” (Matthew 17:20, New Living Translation)

Have a safe, joyous and faith-filled new year.
