This month's photo challenge was
the use of light. The assignment is to post two or three pictures where
"light takes center stage and commands your attention". That leaves
the door wide open for me, and also does not mean there is a chance that I can
post only a few pictures. So sorry to continue to be non-compliant on the
Personal Photo Challenge.
The first two pictures were taken
in my yard one evening a few years ago. Honestly, the pictures were not
retouched. This is the way the eerie sky actually appeared following a late
afternoon shower.
This next two pictures show how different the sky can look when the sun is behind the clouds.
And finally these last two shots were taken out of two different windows at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, at different times of the day. They certainly show what a difference the outside light or lights can make.
All of these photos were taken with my Nikon Coolpix digital camera. If I remember correctly, all of the automatic settings were on for all six pix.

pretty good photos..
great for the Light Challenge this month!
It is interesting to go through and look at everyone's photos.
Goodness!! You're Right! The light was certainly eerie on those first two shots...but they're lovely.
All of these are!
Happy weekend!
hughugs
That is some orange sky, the sun behind the clouds is awesome.
LOL, there are no punishments for enthusiasm! So no worries on presenting a few more photos.
Gosh, the color in those first two photos is really eerie - good word to describe it! And cloud/sun photos are always interesting to capture. That one show with all the colorful reflections looks like contemporary art. Interesting effect! And my favorite of the group is the last one with the backlighting on the tall buildings. Thanks for participating, Chris!
Thanks for the comments. Even though there are six photos, there are two for each of my points, so I count them as three all together. Is that called using new math?
You've really given us some good examples of how lighting affects our photos. Sometimes you see something like the eerie sky and hope it looks the same when you take a photo. LOVE the first one in Las Vegas. It's the way the whole city looks...beautiful colorful lights! Well done!
Very interesting photos! The first two are eerie- we have had skies like that too, the odd yellowish color we had was due to forest fires to the west.. Love the Vegas shots, especially the last one.
I enjoyed seeing every single one! The third and final ones are my favorites.
oops...third is good, but fourth is the one I was thinking of...that color blue!
Interesting sky photos. The first two are definitely eerie looking. I really like the last photo of the sun behind the buildings. I'm always looking at the sky and cloud formations as they change a lot here some days.
I love the two taken out the windows. Many of my are since sometimes I just can't stop and get out of the car.
So many interesting photos! I love the effects when the sun is behind the clouds...but your last photo of the city buildings is fascinating.
Light is so variable - you have some great captures in your photos. Those post-storm images are slightly eery.
I've seen the sky that awesome pink colour after the rain - quite eerie!
The middle two are great too!
