The Precious Blood of Jesus

I feel pretty guilty that here we are, four weeks into Lent, just a few weeks from Easter, and I don’t know, I’m feeling like I haven’t spent any time in that time growing closer to my Savior. All I’ve pretty much done is post these Sunday song lyrics.

I’m sure this is true for most of you. Lent is just another set of six weeks throughout our busy lives and we go to church on Sunday, maybe to our mid-week Lenten services, maybe read our Bibles. But our world just keeps moving forward and sometimes we feel like we are just along for the ride.

I have no answer for that. Except to give thanks that God did send His Son to forgive us of all our sins and inadequacies. That the blood of Jesus is able to make us come clean.

1.   What can wash away my sin?
Nothing but the blood of Jesus;
What can make me whole again?
Nothing but the blood of Jesus.
o   Refrain:
Oh! precious is the flow
That makes me white as snow;
No other fount I know,
Nothing but the blood of Jesus.
2.   For my pardon, this I see,
Nothing but the blood of Jesus;
For my cleansing this my plea,
Nothing but the blood of Jesus.
3.   Nothing can for sin atone,
Nothing but the blood of Jesus;
Naught of good that I have done,
Nothing but the blood of Jesus.
4.   This is all my hope and peace,
Nothing but the blood of Jesus;
This is all my righteousness,
Nothing but the blood of Jesus.
5.   Now by this I’ll overcome—
Nothing but the blood of Jesus;
Now by this I’ll reach my home—
Nothing but the blood of Jesus.
6.   Glory! Glory! This I sing—
Nothing but the blood of Jesus,
All my praise for this I bring—
Nothing but the blood of Jesus.

It needs a lot of renovations, kind of like us, huh?
