Friend

Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends. (John 15:13, New King James Version)

Would you give up your life for your friends? Maybe your best friend, and hopefully your close family members.

This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters. (1 John 3:16, New International Version)

Do you think that when John wrote these verses, he was talking about your blood relatives and your best friends? I’m pretty sure he was talking about strangers as well. And why do I think that? Because Jesus was born in Bethlehem to live among us and give His life for anyone who believes in Him. Now that’s a Friend.
