A Challenge of Windows and Doors

A couple months ago, I discovered another blog challenge, A Personal Photo Challenge. I thought it sounded like a great idea as it would be a chance to show off some of my more obscure photos, or to even have an excuse to take obscure photos. If you have been following me at all, though, you know that I have my hands into so many other things, that I don't know what makes me think I can take this on as well. But when the photo challenge for this month posted in August, I though, ah, ha, I got this one.

The theme is "Windows and Doors". I already had some cool pictures which I thought would work, but that day back in August, when I stopped at the Novitiate near Gresham? Would any other place offer more awesome windows and doors?

Oh, I love the way those first windows open and the architectural design of them! But old broken out windows are intriguing! I'm sure there are stories to be told! Great job on the challenge! Hugs to you!

What an interesting place! Your photos are great. I especially like the third one. What a mystery!

Thank you for joining in! Old buildings like this offer great photo opportunities. The first two photos have some nice lines going for visual interest. And the last three are beckoning the viewer to come closer - if they dare - to explore further! The door opening inward is a bit spooky, LOL! I bet that the inside would provide a terrific HDR photo shoot. Wonderful examples!

The scenery is great through the barred windows and it looks like this was an interesting place at one time.

Very intriguing and, though there is a lot of light, very atmospheric. That open door just makes one want to go in...

Wonderful photos! I love the first couple, but the old worn out ones have much emotion to them, and oh the stories they could tell! Thanks for stopping by my blog!

Oh, a very interesting place for photos of windows and doors. I like them and especially the view out the multi paned window. Very nice selection. Pamela

Great pics. Those windows are amazing. Funny, the name of your blog. My first dog was named Dino. Haven't thought of him in years. Thanks for the memory spark.

Great shots. The wooden window dividers look like they are framing a collection of prints, all hung together.

What an interesting set of photos Chris.
Quite sad when a building is neglected like that - you've captured the feeling of abandonment.

Welcome, glad you joined in and show us some awesome pics of vintage doors and windows. I too would love to step inside and see what's awaiting my camera lens - as long as there's no dangerous wildlife lurking! Sad the building has been left to the elements, bet there's an interesting history.

Love the last image with Nature taking over the beautiful stone steps.

Happy week - see you next time hopefully.
